Throwback to 2014

Before we left Europe in October we stayed two weeks at my parents’ house in Sweden in order for me to repack my things since I had been living in Norway for almost two years. I arranged my camera gear, bought some new things and I stuffed my back with all memory cards that I could find. I left for Mexico with four different memory cards, one that I knew belonged to me and the rest I supposed belonged to me. After all I found them in my room, so they must be mine. Until today I have not bothered…

11 month detour to Latin America

The last two weeks in Halmstad have passed way to fast and yesterday we had a goodbye dinner at my parents place with old friends and family. Consequently the last couple days have been spent on cooking, baking and for other preparations for the party. It was so nice that so many showed up, and thank you all for a very nice evening, kind words, wishes and farewell gifts!   At the moment we are in the midst of repacking our bags and on Tuesday morning we will take the train down to Copenhagen in Denmark and spend the night…

I think we have come to a breaking point. In a few weeks the winter season is over and we will embrace the summer season (even if the summer still will be loaming in the dark for another 3 months here up north). The light is back, families are heading to the mountains in order to celebrate the return of spring during Easter. Somehow it brings hope and we are counting the time until this part of our life is over and we enter into a new one. Almost a week ago my boyfriend returned to Germany after a week here. Two month…

Life up North

Long time no see. I have obviously not been so active here lately. Mainly due to the fact that we have been facing the shoulder season between autumn and winter here the last two months- to bad weather/snowy for hiking and mountainbiking and to little snow for skiing. Further more I have got a new job position (a temporary contract for one year) which have required some more time. But I am still alive. I have had time to go home to Sweden to visit friends and family, a pit-stop in Stockholm for some techno with friends and a short…

New home, new challanges

My first week at my new job came to an end at 0815 yesterday morning – I have worked the night shift the last two nights.  So far everything is very good, actually over my expectations. My impression of Geilo so far is mainly positive. There are great possibilities for outdoor activities – gosh I look forward to day-tours and longer detours in the mountains this summer.  The people at work are very nice and so are my work tasks. I have time to hit the slopes some days every week and still have time left for a few hours…

Time to leave Halmstad for a while

From skiing in Austria with my family and boyfriend a week ago I am now in Norway, more precisely in Geilo where I got offered a job. Thus the last week has been hectic. Packing, going through all my things and put them into boxes once again, sorting out a lot of practical stuff and then getting into the Super Skoda in order to head north , for new adventures and hopefully a lot of skiing! Thus you can expect a overload of snowy photos the upcoming months! A last walk along the coastline in Halmstad last week.  Sunset, 10*C below…

2015, another year is comming to an end

We are heading towards the last day of 2015. Yet another year has passed. I do not have so much to say about it- or maybe it is more true to say that I have far too much to say. I do not know how to write out my feelings for this year. I have seen so many fantastic places, my life-context have changed dramatically; I finished 5 years of university studies, I finally embraced my deep love for the great outdoors- every month have been filled with microadventures and I have been blown away by mesmerizing landscapes, over and…
