Valle de Cocora is located a 30 minute drive outside Salento and is commonly perceived to be a “must” to visit if one is in the region. The valley is famous for the wax palms that than grow up to 60 meters tall, the presence of condors and eagles, and of course more than a handful of tourists.
There are several trails through the valley and surrounding areas and we took one of the shorter one since we arrived late and since I am still struggling with my ankle that I sprained almost two months ago. Never the less- the scenery was beautiful. Colombia is such a diverse country and it is sometimes hard to understand how many facets one can experience during one day here.
